Chefchaouen, or Chaouen, is a city in the Rif Mountains of northwest Morocco. It’s known for the striking, blue-washed buildings of its old town. Pick up from your hotel at 7:30 heading north of FES, into the RIF mountains driving through the olive groves and fertile land rich of agricultural crops of trees and vegetables,it will be 3:30 drive to CHEFCHAOUEN with few panoramic stops. Lunch will be in one of the little restaurants facing the KASBAH.
CHEFCHAOUEN, or the bleu city as it is cold very famous in Morocco, it is a historical town situated at the slop of the mountain TALSEMTAN; built in the valley RAS EI Ma crowned by two pecks from which the city got the original name ECHAOUEN, an AMAZIGH word mines the horns.
